Fall 2019 Fashion Trends

Spice Up Your Wardrobe This 2019 With These Fall Looks

Beautiful Woman With Long Hair | ISA Professional

It's officially Fall and that means we can start feeling the slight chill in the air and smell the pumpkin coffee brewing. This season is perfect for anyone that loves to layer, without the need of going overboard. As we all know, fashion trends are always changing and evolving; 2019 is no different! Make sure you stay in style by following our tips to help you look as chic as possible this Fall season!

Which one of these looks would you rock this year?

Capes

A post shared by Jess- Personal Stylist (@jessdoesstyle) on

Believe it or not, and despite Edna Mode’s aggressive stance on the matter, capes are seriously in right now. Snag one in a variety of earth tones that are autumnally appropriate, from the classic trench coat beige to elegant camel to striking black.

Jewel Tones

A post shared by Aly's Fight (@alysfight) on

Brilliant jewel tones are also hitting the streets this fall, particularly in stunning oranges and intense pinks - whether you want to carry some of that summer vibrancy through the end of the year or just want to push back against all the neutral colors out there, it’s a solid move.

Plaid at Play

A post shared by Meli (@melimunchi) on

Much like the smudged eye makeup look, another grunge element that’s back in play is plaid! This isn’t purely a grunge thing, however - there are a variety of plaid looks that will make you feel chic and sleek, whether you’re looking for a jacket, pants, or fitted vest.

Micro Bag

A post shared by Willabelle Ong (@willamazing) on

The mirco bag is exactly what it sounds like: a teeny tiny purse that stands out thanks to it's miniature size. Many designers are creating lovely looks in this style for Fall, pairing them with gorgeous clothing choices. I especially love that you don't have to stress what to take with you; after all, it's more of a fashion statement than a practical purse.

Golden Accessories

A post shared by Beauty lies in simplicity ✨ (@simplestylebyher) on

It's difficult to find anyone that doesn't love a nice gold accessory and you guessed it: it's still very much in this Fall! Golden belts and gold colored statement necklaces are my personal go to accessories, but you can choose any golden piece to spice up your wardrobe!

Remember: fashion is, at its heart, all about finding your confidence and your creativity through personal presentation. Find what you like, take what works for you, and leave the rest. Now, get out there and work it!

Undercut Designs For Your Next Unique Hairstyle

Stand Out With Any Of These Undercut Haircuts

Woman Taking A Photograph | ISA Professional

Sometimes, we can feel like we need a big change in our outer appearance and that's okay. There's nothing wrong with wanting to go out of our comfort zone and try a new look. Whether it's with clothing, makeup or our hairstyle, a little change can go a long way in boosting our confidence and may even help us overcome a past obstacle; thanks, in part, to that newfound energy. One hairstyle in particular is very popular right now and it takes courage to request this in the salon: the undercut (also known as a hair tattoo). This type of haircut goes close to the scalp because it is used to make different patterns and shapes, as a form of hair art. Just make sure you don't decide on this new look after a bad hair day; this kind of haircut takes dedication and time and you don't want to regret it. Below you'll find five hair tattoos to get your inspiration from and if you do decide to go with this type of hairstyle, rock it! You got this!

I Heart Bold Undercut

A post shared by Kendall Noel (@playwithscissors) on

This undercut by @playwithscissors is so gorgeous, I love how she incorporated a heart pattern on the back of the neck. This type of hair tattoo is also a perfect option for anyone that needs to hide their bold addition for work: just bring your hair down and no one will know!

Dual Checkered Undercut

A post shared by ɢɪᴛᴛʏ & ɢöғғ ʜᴀɪʀ ★ ᴀɴᴊᴀ (@gitty_und_goeff) on

If you want to bring your bold undercut up a couple of notches, then this hairstyle by @gitty_und_goeff is the one for you. She used black and red but you can go with whatever color combo you prefer. This hair tattoo can also be covered if you have long enough hair. The low buns add a nice touch to this hairdo and we're here for it!

Glitter Undercut

A post shared by Stephanie (@src_2100) on

What could possibly elevate an already bold undercut? Why, glitter, of course! This hair makeover by @src_2100 is lovely. The way she placed the glitter in specific parts of the hair tattoo makes this balanced and awesome to look at.  She then added a thick braid above the tattoo, showing us all the end result of this perfect hair transformation. Imagine the confidence her client must have felt when she showed her the end result; hair goals right there!

Pastel Undercut

A post shared by 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐬 (@theodoraraptis) on

Where the pastel color lovers at? This hair tattoo by @theodoraraptis is a wonderful example of soft and hard in a hair makeover. The mowhawk and undecut design are already bold but she gave the look a twist by going with a pastel lilac as her color choice, giving it a softer effect. Officially in love with this chic hairstyle, more please!

Hot Pink Sidecut

A post shared by Vegas Rainbow Fantasy Hair Art (@misheledimariadesigns) on

Want something brighter for your hair makeover? Then check out @misheledimariadesigns hot pink sidecut! She left the rest of the hair long and curly to give it dimension and created a zig zag design on side of her client's scalp. Isn't it great when you find a hairstyle that will keep you on your toes everyday?

Get On Trend This Fall: Fall 2019 Trends In Hair

Five Hair Trends For Fall 2019

Valley With Fall Colors | ISA Professional

Fashion is a changeable and fey creature, always keeping us on our toes with what's in and what's not. With such wonderful looks out there, it can be hard to sort through it all - so we’ve put together a list of five of our favorite on-trend hair looks for Fall 2019. Explore them below, then find your inspiration and strut the streets like they’re your personal catwalk.

Fall 2019 Hair Trends

Center Part

A post shared by кошачий (@nanameuw) on

If you paid close attention to New York Fashion Week, you may have noticed the growing center part trend. People have been gravitating toward this style, skillfully using their fingers to pick out their center part, and then largely slicking their hair down in a symmetrical presentation. If your face lends itself well to this look, go for it! This rainbow hairstyle by @nanameuw is a great example of parting in the center and letting the hair fall evenly on both sides. But if you worry it’s too much for you to pull off, no worries - move on to one of these next looks.

Low Ponytail

A post shared by Hair Stylist Jenny Strebe (@theconfessionsofahairstylist) on

Another prevalent trend that emerged from the catwalks during NYFW is the low ponytail - a relaxing treat for your scalp as we bid adieu to tight and high ponytails. This low hanging ponytail by @theconfessionsofahairstylist is brought up a notch with her detailed braiding work. For a easier look, don’t be afraid to gracefully gather your hair at the nape of your neck with a simple hair tie, and include a side part for a sleek evening look.

Soft Waves

A post shared by Willow | Grace | Hair (@willow.grace.hair) on

Soft waves are also a vital trend this fall, especially if you’re Taylor Swift or going for a romantic feel. Use our titanium flat iron to create these loose waves, and try draping them with a side part for a glam infusion. Keep them touchably soft by regularly treating your hair to a deep conditioning mask. We especially love this fiery mermaid waved makeover by @willow.grace.hair, we just want to touch it!

Go Platinum

A post shared by Presley Poe (@presleypoe) on

Platinum blonde hair is hot right now, especially if you lean toward icy tones. This is also a perfect shade to enjoy throughout the autumn and to welcome winter in! This color tends to look best with short hairstyles, and you’ll need to give your hair frequent TLC if acquiring this look means a lot of bleaching for your tresses. The talented @presleypoe knows her way around platinum hair, as is evident in this gorgeous silver asymmetrical hairstyle.

Lilac Locks

A post shared by HΔIR ШITCH (@glam.by.heather) on

Lilac hair is also on trend (along with some other pastels) - we’ve seen it popping up on our Instagram feeds as summer has been wending to a close. If it's cool enough for Megan Rapinoe, it's cool enough for us! From silvery-toned lilac to a bolder Easter egg shade, there’s a lilac out there that will work for you - if you’re game enough to try. @glam.by.heather shows us how it's done with this gorgeous pastel lilac transformation; it makes us want to change out hair color this instant!

First on our list is for the green lovers out there that want rainbow hair but also want their favorite emerald color to stand out. This makeover by @jessicapowerspaints makes that dream a reality; she laid a base of neon green to the underpart of the hair and applied the other colors on the top layer of the hair. This allows the green to be the main attraction and remember, this can be done with any color of your choosing.

Rainbow Sidecut

A post shared by Mr.Hb (@haritobarber) on

This rainbow transformation is for the boldest of the bold: the fantasy sidecut by @haritobarber This haircut requires a steady and experienced hand but once you find the right stylist, I'm sure they'll be ecstatic to have such an adventurous client they can show their full creativity off on.

A post shared by PULP RIOT 🎨 | ARIZONA 🌵 (@kristidaybeauty) on

Do you want the excitement of rainbow hair but aren't sure how long you're willing to rock it for? Then check out @kristidaybeauty work and learn her ways! By applying the fantasy color to the lower part of her clients' hair, she gave her the option of returning to her natural hair color whenever she wants; with a haircut. Plus, the color split between the rainbow hues is just an amazing bonus in this lovely hairstyle.

Rainbow Burst

A post shared by Angela's 🌼Hair SKULLPTURES🌼 (@angela_skullptures) on

Blind everyone in your path with this ultimate rainbow hair makeover by @angela_skullptures No color was left behind in this stunning, bright hairstyle and her color placement is on point! When To Cut Your Hair Short - And When NOT To

To Cut Or Not To Cut Your Hair?

Woman Giving Herself Scalp Massage | ISA Professional

So you have long hair, but something’s changed. You’re eyeing the other side of the divide, and seriously considering cutting your hair short. Maybe you just started working outside and it’s the dog days of summer. Or perhaps you were dumped. Or possibly you just saw a killer short ‘do on TV. Whatever the reason, you’re sweating the decision. It feels huge. World-changing. Potentially amazing.

So, how do you decide?

We’re glad you asked! Because we have opinions. Read on for seven of them.

DO - Because It’s Hot

Woman Taking In The Sun | ISA Professional
If you’re living or working in a humid atmosphere, long hair can be a sweat-soaked nightmare. You can start the day off with a perfect coiffure and wind up feeling like Medusa with limp tresses snaking around your shoulders by the afternoon.

Getting all that hair off, off, off your neck and shoulders can absolutely be heaven! But make sure you understand this: chopping off all your hair will make any weird curls or waves that humidity adds to your hair texture that much… more. You’ll still need to style your hair daily.

DON’T - Because You Love Easy Bad Hair Day Fixes

Woman Waking Up In The Morning | ISA Professional
Short ‘dos can be super-cute but are also more vulnerable to bed head and bad hair days. When you keep your hair long, you have something to work with when your hair is misbehaving—as we showed you before, you can braid it any number of ways, change your part, and accessorize extensively.

Short hair can be a real pain in the ass on a bad hair day, and require extensive styling if you slept on your hair funny the night before. (Or it could look great! Some bedhead does look like what a really good stylist might do…)

DO - Because You Break Up

Woman Wearing Sunglasses | ISA Professional
Cutting all your hair off after a big breakup is an age-old act of transformation. When our lives are shaken down to the foundation, we like to reinvent ourselves—rising like a phoenix with a glorious new hairstyle or color. And cutting off long lengths of hair just feels like shedding that heavy and hurtful past. Kick your painful past to the curb and find a new you!

DON’T - Because You Break Up

Woman Meditating | ISA Professional
Then again, cutting your hair while you’re in an intensely emotional state can backfire. You’re less likely to think through your decision when you’re hurting and just craving some big, visible change. So you might want to slow your roll and consider whether you really want shorter hair, and then consider which style would most suit your face shape and hair type before committing.

DO - Because It Gives You Headaches

Woman With Tight Top Bun Hairstyle | ISA Professional
Long hair can get really heavy, especially for those of you with a thicker hair texture. When you combine that weight with certain hairstyles—like tight braids or ponytails or updos—you create the perfect conditions to get a headache or even trigger a migraine. Some of you might decide the looks you can achieve with long hair are worth the pain—but exploring short hairstyles sounds like a winning (and most importantly pain-free) move.

DON’T - Because Someone Else Looks Great that Way

Woman With Beautiful Curly Hair | ISA Professional
The worst way to select a new hairstyle is by going after the latest fad and what a celebrity is wearing. Don’t get us wrong—that’s a great way to get inspiration! But you need to take that inspiration and seriously consider whether it suits the shape of your face and your hair type. If your hair is stick-straight but you want a tousled bob with a lot of body, your hair’s not going to miraculously achieve that shape with a cut. (Unless your hair is straight because the length is pulling out any natural waves you have.)

There are two great ways to get some insight into what a new hairstyle might look like on you. First, you can find an app that lets you upload a picture of yourself and try different hairstyles on. (Also great for seeing how different hair colors might look with your skin tone.) Secondly, you can make an appointment to speak with a stylist - a skilled stylist will be able to give you insightful feedback about what short styles might suit you. Ideally, do both.

DO - Because You Want To

Woman Rocking Short Wavy Hairstyle | ISA Professional
When it comes right down to it, the best reason to cut off all your hair is because you feel like it. Your hair is an expression of who you are, and the perfect feature for experimenting with new lengths, styles, colors, and accessories until you find those looks that feel right, that you love, and that give you the confidence to rock the world.

After all, as original boss lady Cersei Lannister put it, “I am Cersei of House Lannister, a lion of the Rock, the rightful queen of these Seven Kingdoms, trueborn daughter of Tywin Lannister. And hair grows back.” (Pro-tip, that’s a great personal mantra—just swap out the details to proclaim your own magnificence.)

Planning to chop your hair off soon? Share your before and after photos (and your personal why) on Instagram! Don’t forget to tag us @isa.professional.
