There are so many lovely hairstyles out there to pick from, but how do you know if those bangs you were thinking of are a smart move for you? Or if you should go with that layered style that looked so cute on that movie actress? Well, don't worry, I got you covered!

Those with heart-shaped faces have a wide forehead and narrow chin. A perfect example of this shape is Reese Witherspoon. If you have this face type, then bangs or a side-swept fringe are sure bets. By choosing bangs, you take attention away from your chin, making you look more symmetrical. If you're just not that into bangs then a deep side part that just covers up the edge of either eyebrow is also a solid choice.

A square-shaped face means that the length and width of the face are equal. Salma Hayek has this shape and knows how to rock it by parting her hair in the middle and adding soft layers around and under her chin. Stay away from harsh lines, as these bring too much attention to your chin and you want to soften it. You can also try an off-center part to switch things up. Try both sides and see what works best for you.

Have you ever heard the word balayage and wondered what it meant? You've probably seen it tied with pictures so you know it has to do with blonde hair but you have no idea why every celebrity is obsessed with it. I was the same and did some research and what I found, I loved. Balayage is a French word that translates to 'to sweep' or 'to paint'. This isn't a new technique but it's been gaining popularity lately and it's not hard to see why. Instead of using highlights and foils, balayage allows the stylist to apply the color wherever they want by free handing the dye. This is awesome for anyone that wants to have blonde accents in their hair without having to go to the beauty salon often. By getting a balayage look, you let the stylist take control and decide where the dye looks best on your hair. You can choose to be blonder by asking for more on the front and less in the back but if you realy want your balayage to last a long time, ask the stylist to barely touch your roots.
